Pamamanhikan is derived from the tagalog word “PANIK” which means to to climb a flight of stairs. This is a Filipino tradition wherein the groom seeks the bride’s parents’ blessing and permission for marriage.
If you had been with Alaine and Ryan during the preparation for this, you would have thought that the word was derived from “panic” because they were both so anxious about this day since it would be the first time for their families to meet each other
