Five Days After…

Greetings from Mr. and Mrs. Salvanera

Yupyup, it’s been five days since the big day. I wanted to create a post right away but so many things have been going on and I just couldn’t find a time to sit down by myself to think things through…

The day after, we were already traveling all over the metro… brought the gifts we received to our condo, returned the cake tower to Joy San Gabriel at Corinthians, dropped off Mama and Dada (my parent-in-laws) at Cubao, dropped off rest of Alaine’s family at Cainta, headed to SM San Lazaro to return some rented suits, off to Makati to meet my family and finally back to Cainta to sleep… Whew! By the way, all this happened after checking out at 12noon… Double Whew!

The rest of the days were almost as busy with Ate Jinky and family leaving for Singapore, New Year preparations and celebrations, cleaning up the condominium and more…

Anyway, I don’t really have more to say right now but expect more posts (and pictures) about the big day soon.

The Photo Booth

I was first introduced to the idea of photo booth’s at my friends Edz and Zone’s wedding last Jan. The way that the people lined up for their shots made me realize that it was indeed a great idea. (Of course, the fact that I am a cam-whore contributed to it)

Luckily, Alaine loved the idea too so I did not have much trouble convincing her to have a photo booth serve our souvenirs.

After looking around at a couple (a lot actually) of bridal fairs, we decided to go with Baicapture. Although they were not the cheapest in the market, the simple yet professional look of their booth made us pick them over the rest. Luckily for us, they had a promo last month and the price actually went down to almost the same as the rest of their competitors

After a lot of editing, and some help from my officemate, Alaine and I finally came up with a simple design for the souvenir. I do hope our guests like it… as much as we did coming up with it.

Gift registry

When we first discussed the idea of having a gift registry, Alaine and I decided that we would opt for a money tree instead. Although we will be moving to a new condo after the wedding, we already had all the appliances and what-have-yous that we need, thanks to our parents who generously shared all those hardly-used items to us.

However, a colleague of mine suggested that we still get one online so that our friends and family who are out of the country can still send in their gifts. This led me to start asking my recently-married friends for bridal/gift registries. They pointed me to places like SM, Rustans and some other furniture shop.

Unfortunately, none of these places had online registries. So instead, I tried to do an search for one. This lead me to a site called http://www.myweddingregistry.com.ph/. Although I was excited at first, I quickly noticed that the site had very limited items. Not only that, I felt that the premium they charged to each item was a bit too much.

So, after all that, we decided to stick with the original plan and go with the money tree… in our case, the money well

Alaine and I were thinking of creating a site at http://www.weddingannouncer.com or http://www.mywedding.com, but we eventually decided to start this blog instead.

For now, we will focus on creating pages for the wedding instead of creating new posts.
